Binghamton University will help conduct a community-wide disaster drill taking place next week. The drill is coordinated by BU’s Decker School of Nursing students, faculty, and staff. Over 300 people are expected to participate in the drill, which will incorporate a mock scenario of a radiological emergency at Nine Mile Point nuclear power plant in Oswego County. Students, children, and adults from the community will play the roles of injured residents. The purpose of the mock disaster is to educate and prepare nursing students, along with community partners, in response to unforeseen disasters. The event will take place in the University Events Center on Tuesday at 9 am, members of the community are welcome to join.
