The 62-year-old sex offender accused who was apprehended in Owego following his robbery at CVS, is also being charged for a home invasion in Vestal and isn’t accepting a plea deal, deciding he wants to go to trial instead.
In February, John Malowsky, who was just three months removed from prison at the time, allegedly forced his way into a home on Jensen Road, where he held a woman and two young children at knifepoint. The woman and children were able to flee the scene, unharmed.
It was later that night that Malowsky is accused of robbing the Owego CVS. He’s been charged with both predatory sexual assault and burglary. The plea deal which Malowsky denied would have had him serving concurrent sentences of 20 years and 25 years to life. He has also been charged with armed robberies that same week in both Corning and Big Flats.
