In preparation for Memorial Day weekend, local police are stepping up their efforts to ensure drivers are using their seat belts. Now through June 2nd, police will be participating in the Annual Click it or Ticket Campaign. Patrols will focus their efforts to ensure that drivers are abiding by vehicle and traffic laws and wearing their seat belts. There will be checkpoints all across New York during the campaign. Drivers found not wearing their seat belts will be fined and also receive points on their license. Organizers says they expect the Click it or Ticket campaign to save close to 150 lives.
