Vestal Police have arrested a Syracuse man who is wanted for larcenies in both Cortland and Onondaga counties. 33-year-old Patrick Provost was arrested have he was accused of stealing a $1,300 television from Wal-Mart at the Town Square Mall. Provost was identified as a suspect on Tuesday afternoon following a meeting between the Vestal Police and local businesses. Later that day, a call came from Wal-Mart reporting a stolen 60-inch television. Employees were able to give police a license-plate number for a van driven by the suspect, which was pulled over on Route 81 northbound in Cortland County by a state trooper. Provost has been charged with felony grand larceny, along with criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Vestal Town Court and sent to the Broome County Jail. Charges on his other alleged larcenies are still pending.
