The Conklin community celebrates their resilience after being flooded twice in five years with their annual Community Day. People filled the Floyd Maines Conklin Community Center on Saturday to take part in the event, which is in its second year. Free food, games and information about Conklin businesses attracted local residents. This day of celebration kicked off last year to lift the spirits of the community after the flood of September 2011. Conklin has nearly 100 businesses. Conklin Community Day was sponsored by the Conklin Business Association.
