A local soldier has died overseas. The Department of Defense announced the death Saturday of 25-year-old Justin Rogers from Barton. According to the department, he died Friday at Bagram, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related incident. The Department of Defense said his death is currently under investigation. Rogers was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, daughter and parents.
