A blow to flood victims in our area. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is denying individual assistance to residents affected by the recent flooding. FEMA has informed the state that those residents will not be eligible for the Individual Assistance program. Cuomo had recently stated he would call a special session of the state legislature should FEMA aid not come through for homeowners. No date has been set for a potential special session and lawmakers left Albany on June 22nd. But Cuomo said the state will step up to the plate to ensure those affected by the floods have the resources and assistance they need to get their lives back together.
