Man Arrested After Soaking Woman With Gasoline, Flicking Cigarette

Endicott Police find a woman soaked in gasoline. On Sunday, Endicott police officers responded to a home at 1903 East Main Street. Police said 54-year-old Mark Geertgens was in a domestic dispute with an unidentified woman. An investigation found that Geertgens soaked the woman in gasoline and flicked a lit cigarette at her. The gasoline did not ignite. Geertgens was arrested and charged with a felony count of attempted assault in the first degree. He was arraigned in the Village of Endicott court, and taken to the Broome County Jail with no bail.
