A Ride Tioga public transport bus burst into flames in Binghamton. Binghamton Fire Marshall Dan Eggleston said the driver had just picked it up from a repair shop. He noticed engine noise, and pulled into the Hess Gas Station off Pennsylvania Avenue. That was when the fire started. The driver emptied three fire extinguishers trying to put it out before firefighters arrived. When they did, they had it under control in about 5 minutes. There were no passengers on board. No one was injured and the cause is under investigation.
