An Endicott teen has been charged with assault in connection to a Wednesday night stabbing on Nanticoke Avenue. 18-year-old Cody Austin is facing a felony second-degree assault charge after a reported knife fight in front of his home. Police found the victim a few blocks away, and he was taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center where he was treated and released for four non-life-threatening stab wounds in his upper back. Austin fled the scene on foot, and state Police, Broome County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, and the Endicott Police were unable to locate him at first. An off-duty Endicott detective returning home from investigating the assault saw Austin walking on Nanticoke Avenue and called for backup. Police were then able to take him into custody on Jennings Avenue today. The stabbing is reportedly the result of an ongoing dispute between Austin and the victim. Austin was arraigned in the Village of Endicott Court and sent to the Broome County Jail.
