Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill that creates a new type of license for farm cider-making operations. The bill creates a license for operations that make and sell no more than 150,000 gallons of cider each year from crops grown in the state. The license is similar to a license available for farm wineries and breweries. According to Cuomo, farm cider operations, which can also sell products such as jams and souvenirs, will help promote tourism to New York and help with the state’s agriculture.
