Conklin residents and town board members met last night for a public hearing about the budget and other financial issues. Home and commercial water and sewage rates will increase due to higher charges by the Binghamton-Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant. The fire protection contract will increase by 1.7 percent and residents will see a tax decrease. The budget passed with a three to one vote.
