In Johnson City, Republican Mayor Greg Deemie will keep his seat. Deemie took 70 percent of the vote to Democratic challenger Barret Esworthy’s 30 percent. Deemie was first elected as a village trustee in 2010 and was appointed mayor last year. He says he’s proud to win a full term and plans on being the best mayor he can be for the village. Opponent Barrett Esworthy said he was disappointed by the results, but says he respects the Democratic process.
