A Sidney home was destroyed after a fire Saturday afternoon. Sidney Fire Department Chief Greg Peck Sr. said his department responded to 8 Gilbert Street around 3 p.m. He called in backup because they were dealing with a fully involved structure fire. The crews had the fire contained within 45 minutes, but the chief said the home is a total loss. Peck said no one was living in the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
