A Tompkins County town is the latest to vote on a hydrofracking moratorium. Tuesday night, the Groton Town Board voted down a six-month ban on fracking by a 3-2 vote. The vote was preceded by a public hearing with over 100 people in attendance. The meeting room was filled, with attendees spilling into the hallway. Aside from Groton, every town in Tompkins County has taken an action to either ban fracking or temporarily block it with a moratorium.
