A punishment is eased for one Cornell University fraternity following an incident involving underage drinking. University officials said the suspension Delta Kappa Epsilon received will now last for a minimum of two years rather than three. The school board revoked the chapter’s charter back in November. They say on August 30th and 31st, there was underage drinking at the fraternity, where at least one person got so drunk they needed medical attention. University officials also said fraternity members didn’t contact medics, and when police came to help they got in their way. The reduction comes after Delta Kappa Epsilon appealed the suspension. The frat will remain open for the spring, but with a required live-in advisor.
