An early Monday morning robbery took place in Ithaca along the 500 block of West State Street. Around 3 o’clock in the morning on Monday, a man approached the victim and asked him for a cigarette before demanding his belongings. The man allegedly pointed to his jacket pocket to indicated he had a gun. The suspect was able to escape with the victim’s cell phone, wallet, backpack, jacket, and other items. He was described as a black male, about 25 years-old, standing 5 feet 9 inches, and weighing about 130 pounds. Police are currently in the process of investigating the incident and searching for the suspect.
