Chenango County Sheriffs have charged a man they say tried to kill his former girlfriend when he robbed her, beat her, and left her to die on her own driveway. Early Friday morning, deputies were called to the Maple Grove Trailer Park in the town of Norwich. They found 39-year-old Lucinda Knoll severely beaten, and she was transported to Wilson Hospital for serious head trauma, and was listed in critical condition. Police then arrested 48-year-old William Danielson on County Road 4 in Oxford and charged him with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree robbery, both felonies. He was sent to the Chenango County Jail without bail. Police are still investigating the incident at the trailer park.
