A pair of Southern Tier athletes were awarded for their accomplishments on the football field this fall. Senior quarterback Kyle Gallagher of Maine-Endwell was named the New York State Sports Writers Association Player of the Year in Class B, while Chenango Forks’ senior fullback Isaiah Zimmer was given the honors for Class C, with Zimmer sharing his award with Babylon’s Jake Carlock. Both Gallagher and Zimmer helped lead their teams to state championships in their respective classes. Zimmer set the Chenango Forks program record with 2,054 rushing yards, 962 of which came in five playoff games. Gallagher led M-E to their third straight state title.
