The trial for a man charged in connection with the shooting deaths of two men in February 2012 started in Susquehanna County Court. 47-year-old Lloyd Thomas, of Hallstead is charged with two counts of criminal homicide. Pennsylvania State Police said Thomas admitted to shooting 28-year-old Gilberto Alvarez, and 30-year-old Joshua Rogers of New Milford. Their bodies were found in the area of Pine Ayre Road in Great Bend Twp. near Thomas family property. Thomas told investigators the men showed up at his home and he reacted to a situation in self-defense.
