New York State Police said an Enfield man died after being hit by a car. No charges will be filed.
43-year-old Christopher Lampert died Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle while crossing State Route 79, according to police. Lampart walked onto Mecklenburg Road and into the path of a 1995 Subaru Impreza. Lampart was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing, but troopers say no charges will be filed. State Police at Ithaca were assisted by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, the Enfield Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance Service.
