The Chugnut Trail in Endicott could be getting a multimillion dollar extension. The outdoor trail currently ends near the Vestal Avenue Bridge, but a proposal would extend the trail three miles down the Susquehanna River and up Nanticoke Creek. The trail would come to an end at Glendale Park. The public has requested the trail, and Endicott leaders are looking into whether it’s a possibility moving forward, with a focus on maintenance costs. The trail extension is estimated to cost just under $3 million, and construction would be funded through federal funds and other grants. But some homeowners are concerned that they will have to pay for maintenance of the extension moving forward.
