Binghamton University received close to $1 million in grants thanks to New York State Electric and Gas. NYSEG awarded BU with two $400,000 economic development grants on Wednesday afternoon. The grants come from NYSEG’s Utility Infrastructure Investment Program, which provides up to $400,000 per project for heavy use customers, like the university. These grants will help offset costs for electric infrastructure improvements in the recently completed Science building on campus and the nearly completed Center of Excellence building on the Innovative Technologies Complex, which was built to be energy efficient.
