Johnson City residents can expect to see more Broome County deputies and New York State troopers patrolling the streets this week. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police are lending two cars each to the village while Johnson City PD mourns the death of Officer David Smith. The two departments first took over for JCPD after the shooting on Monday. JCPD will resume their patrols Saturday afternoon. Troopers and Sheriff’s Deputies will maintain their post until then.
