The latest school budget numbers for the Maine-Endwell School District will ask that residents approve a tax hike. The budget comes in at $45.7 million, over $800,000 more than last year, requiring an increase to the tax levy of 2.15 percent. According to school officials, over 80 percent of that increase will go toward district programs, mostly related to professional development. A public hearing on the latest budget is scheduled for May 8th, and like all other districts, the spending plan will be going to a public vote on May 20th.
