The death of the Endicott man whose body was found Sunday morning in the Susquehanna River has been ruled an accidental drowning. According to a press release from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, a post-mortem examination was conducted Monday morning, and 20-year-old Brian Lanzo’s death was ruled accidental, and the case is now closed. Lanzo’s body was found in the river after he is reported to have jumped off a railroad bridge behind the Harpursville High School Saturday afternoon. Witnesses said Lanzo showed signs of distress before disappearing under the water. According to the sheriff’s office, at least 100 people, including volunteers and emergency responders, assisted in the search for the body over the weekend.
