Two area men were sentenced to state prison on Thursday as a result of alcohol related offenses. 33-year-old Matthew Poch of Johnson City was sentenced to a state prison term of one to three years for a DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation. However, it’s a Newark Valley man facing a heavy term for vehicular manslaughter. 35-year-old Brandon Bowen was sentenced to two to six years in state prison after he struck and killed Bradley Murray back on January 20th. Murray was riding a bicycle on Route 11 in the Town of Kirkwood when Bowen hit him with his vehicle. Bowen was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
