The Family Reading Partnership of Owego-Apalachin will be hosting a Book Fair at Barnes & Noble’s Vestal location this weekend to raise money for their cause. The reading partnership helps distribute new and gently used books to children throughout the community, and fundraisers are used to help purchase books for the program. Spokeswoman Linda Frisbie touched on the event being held on Saturday in Vestal, which includes a Mother’s Day story time and crafts event at 11 o’clock and an appearance by Claudia Gabel, co-author of the new book “Elusion” from 2 to 3 o’clock. The Family Reading Partnership will benefit from purchases made at Barnes & Noble throughout the day on Saturday, as long as customers mention the reading partnership at checkout. Members of the Family Reading Partnership will be handing out stickers that customers can wear which cashiers will be looking for at checkout, and online purchases can benefit the reading partnership if customers enter the ID number 11146529, that’s 11146529, at checkout. Funds raised through this program will support the distribution of free books to children and families throughout the community.
