A Vestal man has been indicted on drug and weapon charges after he was found with over ten pounds of marijuana. 20-year-old Amir Aslamkhan is facing felony counts of first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty earlier in the month when he was arraigned and currently remains on pretrial release. He was originally arrested back in late January after a search warrant was executed at his residence. During that search, police also found an assault weapon which was loaded with five rounds of ammunition. $35,000 in cash, along with packaging materials used in the sale of marijuana, were also seized from his home. New York State Police, the Vestal Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration have all assisted in the case.
