The man accused of stabbing another outside the Broome County Public Library back in January was sentenced on Wednesday. 51-year-old Wilfredo Hernandez was sentenced to three and a half years in state prison along with five years of post-release probation. Hernandez stabbed 30-year-old Kendu Johnson in the chest after what Binghamton Police say was a dispute over a small amount of money. Hernandez was reportedly preparing to flee to New York City when he was taken into custody. His sentence is a result of pleading down from a charge of attempted murder to a charge of attempted assault.
