The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has released its annual crime report for 2013, and the number of drug busts stood out from the rest. Over 500 arrests were made in 2013 for drugs, with 100 of them misdemeanor narcotics possession arrest. Numbers for other serious crimes, including murder and aggravated assault, were also on the rise according to the report. Crimes that saw a decrease in 2013 in Broome included rape, burglaries, and larcenies.
