The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued stricter boating regulations in the New York Finger Lakes Region. The new regulations make it mandatory for boaters to remove all visible mud, and plants from their vessel, before entering the water. Boaters must also empty all water holding compartments. All of this is being done to decrease the chances of new invasive species from entering the lakes.
