A library in Endicott will be receiving thousands through a state grant program. The George F. Johnson Memorial Library will be getting close to $37,000 of $14 million used throughout the state to help public libraries with construction costs. The Endicott library will be using the money to replace its fluorescent lighting with more energy-efficient LED lighting. The changes are expected to be made sometime in November or December of this year. The grant program has helped the library in the past, as its used funds to make the site more handicap accessible, as well as adding a new lobby and renovating restrooms. The program will also be funding over $7,000 for repairs at the Mary L. Wilcox Memorial Library in Whitney Point.
