Multiple departments were called to a fire in Endwell on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after 2 o’clock Wednesday, crews were called to 3636 Hoover Avenue. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, but a cat from inside the home was rescued. Firefighters from Endwell, Endicott, Union-Center, and Vestal helped contain the fire to the back of the building. The back of the home and a nearby shed suffered damage, but according to reports many of the belongings in the home were saved. It’s unlikely that the home will be able to be lived in for some time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
