Broome County Legislature unanimously approved SUNY Broome’s budget proposal on Thursday night, with the county contributing $7 million to the school’s $52.3 million budget. Some legislators voted to increase the county’s contribution to $7.1 million, a 2 percent increase, but that motion was not approved. SUNY Broome recently announced a 2.9 percent increase to its tuition as it looks to balance its newly adopted budget.
