Today is the day for primary elections and one of the most highly anticipated battles is for the Republican nomination for the 22nd Congressional District. Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is challenging incumbent Richard Hanna. Voter turnout could be an issue, as the last federal primary saw a voter turnout of just 12 percent. The 22nd Congressional District includes Chenango and Cortland counties, among others, but also parts of Tioga and Broome counties. Polls will be open until nine o’clock tonight.
