Union-Endicott High School has announced that it will be closed to all visitors in July and part of August as asbestos abatement takes place in the building. Beginning July 7th, the asbestos removal will start as part of the district’s capital project. Asbestos-based ceiling tiles are currently used in several parts of the school, including classrooms, the weight room, and the laundry room. Those tiles will be removed and district officials say they did not pose any danger to students or faculty during the school year. Through the process, the area near the gymnasium and pool will remain open until the middle of July. All high school operations will be relocated to the Jennie F. Snapp Middle School.
