A fire broke out at 38 Winding Way in Binghamton just before noon on Sunday. Smoke could reportedly be seen from Main and Front streets while firefighters were on the scene. Six people live in the two-story house and all had evacuated safely by the time firefighters arrived. Most of the damage took place on the second floor and attic. Fire officials say the residents of the building will likely not be able to return home anytime soon. None of the occupants were injured but one firefighter had to be evaluated for minor burns. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
