The Conklin dairy plant is now looking to stay open. Earlier this month, the Crowley distribution center in Conklin, currently owned by HP Hood LLC, was scheduled to close its doors sometime in November. In a new development, however, the plant will remain open under new ownership. Balford Farms of Pennsylvania is expected to gain ownership of the plant by the end of October. Current plant employees are being offered employment first under the new ownership. In the agreement, Balford will also acquire Rosenberg’s Dairy.
