Binghamton Police arrested a Broome County legislator for DWI after a crash involving a bicyclist. According to Binghamton Police, Anthony Fiala Jr. of Binghamton, was arrested for DWI just after midnight. The arrest was the result of a car versus bicyclist crash that happened on the corner of Clinton and Oak streets in the city. Binghamton Police said Fiala hit a bicyclist with his vehicle and left the scene. The bicyclist received minor injuries and refused medical
treatment. Police later located Fiala at his home on Stanley Street. Binghamton Police said he refused a breathalyzer test. Fiala was released on an appearance ticket. He represents the 13th district on the Broome County Legislature, which includes parts of Binghamton’s first ward and west side.
