A new prescription drop box is now in the Broome County Office Building to help keep the drugs off of the streets. A white and red metal drop box now calls the lobby of the county building home. It was made available through a grant received by CVS Pharmacy. People can drop off unwanted, old or no longer used medications – from aspirin to controlled substances – but it does not accept syringes. The metal drop box is located next to the security desk and will always stay locked. People can anonymously drop off their medications at the county building Monday through Friday from 8 to 5.
