One of three potential candidates for Johnson City Village Justice will likely be selected by early next week, according to Mayor Greg Deemie of Johnson City. The Johnson City Village Board held a special executive meeting last night to review the potential candidates. The selected candidate will serve as a temporary justice in place of Judge Richard Miller, who has been elected Broome County Family Court Judge. As of last night, the three candidates are Gregory Thomas, a retired Johnson City officer of more than 20 years, Artan Ser-jan-edge, a local attorney, and Martha Lyons, a former village justice. The temporary justice must run for election if the winning candidate wishes to hold the title of village justice.
