Ithaca Police investigate after a man was assaulted and received cuts and stab wounds last night. After 5p.m., Ithaca Police officers were dispatched to Chestnut Apartments on the 100 block of Chestnut Street for a report of several people fighting with guns and knives. Upon arrival, police found a man bleeding from his head and face, with small lacerations to his hands and arms. An investigation revealed the victim was struck in the head with a glass bottle and possibly stabbed. The man told police that he was assaulted by several men who left the area in an unknown direction. He was unable to provide police with any other information. While police continue to investigate, they ask anyone with additional details about the assault to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
