Elmira Police are currently investigating a shooting which occurred in the early hours of New Year ’s Day. According to authorities, at least one individual was shot in the 900 block of Grand Central Avenue, near the road’s intersection with East Washington Avenue. Police have a person of interest in custody, but are asking anyone with information to call (607) 737-5626.
