An Endicott man braved frigid waters to rescue a dog in danger. Ryan Ellsworth and his girlfriend were on their way to Syracuse when she spotted a dog in Owego Creek off Route 38. He says he pulled over knowing the only option was to wade into the icy water and retrieve the dog. According to Ellsworth when he reached the dog, he lifted the 80 pound Labrador retriever mix from the ice and carried it through thigh high deep water back to his truck. Later that same day Ellsworth returned the dog to its home in Berkshire.
