The Broome County Sherriff’s Office arrested a woman who’s accused of driving a car the wrong way on the highway. Early Saturday morning, just before 4 a.m., deputies arrested Jennifer Kemmerer of Little Meadows near exit 1 in Kirkwood. Deputies responded to several 911 calls on I-81 in the towns of Dickinson and Kirkwood regarding a car traveling southbound in the northbound lane. The car did not initially stop for deputies until it turned sideways in the road. Kemmerer performed field sobriety tests and it was determined that she was intoxicated. She was later taken to the sheriff’s office for further processing including a breath test where her blood alcohol content was measured to be 0.18 percent. She was charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and other charges. She was released and will appear in the Town of Kirkwood Court at a later date.
