Multiple departments were called to help battle a fire in Silver Lake Township in Susquehanna County. The 911-dispatch for a chimney fire came over just before 10 last night. Five people were inside the two-story home when the fire broke out. Everyone inside, including the family dog, escaped safely. The fire started in the basement’s wood stove and made its way to the roof. The smoke and water damage to the home made the house unlivable. Susquehanna County Fire Department were first to respond.
