The Bradford County Coroner identified the man found dead in the garage of a home on Dogwood Avenue in Athens Sunday. The body of Thomas Jack Simonds was discovered in the garage Sunday morning. According to the coroner, Simonds was engulfed by a fire inside the garage. The way the garage was constructed made it airtight, which extinguished the fire. Simonds did not live at the home; he was visiting his brother. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall is investigating the incident, and has not ruled on a cause. The cause and manner of his death are pending test results.
