Police believe the prison employee at the center of the escape of two inmates from the Clinton Correctional Facility smuggled tools to the escapees with the understanding that the convicts would kill her husband, that according to CBS News. Joyce Mitchell pleaded not guilty yesterday. She is facing a felony charge for allegedly helping the two murderers– Richard Matt and David Sweat– escape from prison. A source says there was an agreement between Mitchell and the two men. The agreement stated that once out of prison they would kill her husband, Lyle. The two men are still on the loose.
