Police in Waverly are investigating a reported meth lab inside an abandoned home on a residential street. The site was discovered Tuesday around 4:00 pm at 525 Clark Street. Upon investigating the multi-dwelling residence, police found an active meth lab on the second floor. The scene was secured by Waverly Police and the Waverly Barton Fire Department was called in to mitigate any safety hazards that could arise. The Tioga County Fire Investigation Team along with the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team also responded to investigate and clean up the contaminated area. The house had been abandoned for months. Waverly police say the incident is under investigation and asking the public who may have helpful information on the case to contact the Waverly Police Department at 607-565-2836.
